Moving from Buffalo, New York, Vicki thought she was coming to New Bern to retire. Little did she know she left her other life as a stay-at-home Mom to venture into many chapters into this new journey.
One of the first projects Vicki started was being a co-chair for the famous Bear-Town-Bears Project 2007-2010. With a committee of 20 they brought 50+bears into downtown New Bern purchased by local sponsors. Tourists just loved seeing the bears all around town.
Vicki then became an art partner owning Fine Art at Baxter’s in historic downtown, for eight years. She enjoyed learning what it took to run a gallery and it was a source of where to also display her miniature paintings.
Her love of art especially miniature art, took her to a new level when she decided to work toward a goal to receive her signature status with the Miniature Artists of America, MAA.
It required she enter 10 shows in five years and receive two awards. She waited another year until her peers voted her in, in 2012. Vicki’s miniature artwork has been accepted into the World Federation of Miniature Art in Tasmania, Australia, Moscow, Russia and in 2016 Johannesburg, South Africa.
Vicki has been honored to be juried into all the shows she enters, receive awards and have new buyers that she adds to her lists of collectors.
Come and be drawn into her world of miniatures and see where she has traveled.
