ARTIST Terry McCotter
Terry Flanagan McCotter is from eastern North Carolina where she grew up in the town of Greenville. She studied at the International School of Design in Washington, DC and John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC.
Terry joined the Circle 10 Gallery in the early years of the group. Having a background in traditional Appalachian basketry designs, she was encouraged and influenced by the community of Oriental artists, their families, and friends.
Who impacted and influenced her work the most included Joe & Betsy Cox, Chuck & Jan Hinman, Pretlow & Ferne Winborne, Janet Adkins, Cecil & Marlene Sykes, Jean Dexter, as well as Charlie Garrett & Marquerite Brennan. Terry is excited to be showcasing her work with the other talented Circle 10 artists.
