ARTIST Carole Boris
“My Circle 10 Gallery experience was one of the best things I ever did.”
Carole has been interested in creating art for as long as she can remember. She was accepted into the Akron Art Institute when a junior in high school. (Me and 45 former Military guys using their GI Bill) The Institute was a commercial art school long before computers were used for illustration. This was in the 1950s when women were not considered able to produce advertising art. Any attempt at that career was derailed 4 years later to become a housewife and mother. Since that time I pursued art as a hobby, studying in college and seminars with several well-known painters. I even became a “Certified Bob Ross Instructor” and yes, I can still do a landscape in oil in 30 minutes. Maybe not “art” but a lot of fun.
Prior to Circle 10 she had had a couple of one-woman shows and entered local and regional competitions where she received a few awards. Working with other artists in Circle 10 encouraged her to work better and harder. In 2005 she moved to Minnesott Beach and joined the golf ladies 3 days a week. At that point, painting took a backseat. She still havs a studio set up over her garage — just don’t get up there much anymore.
